EWI offers Private & Small Group Lessons, which are flexible and ideal for a wide variety of learners.
Private Instruction
One-on-one sessions allow for optimal instruction with fewer distractions. Private lessons are student-paced, and customized according to each student’s needs, interests and learning-styles. Private instruction is ideal for anyone wanting to study Japanese for work, travel, school, or as a hobby, and is great for home school students.

Small Group Instruction
Group lessons incorporate teacher-led instruction coupled with peer interaction to reinforce learning. Group instruction is ideal for individuals with a casual interest in learning Japanese. These courses are great for families wishing to learn Japanese together, as well as martial arts clubs and home school groups.

The EWI Japanese Program offers four different Learning Tracks. Choose the one that’s right for you!
Beginner Track
This Track is designed for absolute new-comers to the Japanese language, or students with less than one year of experience. It is also ideal for self-taught students who wish to solidify their foundation in basic Japanese phonics, kana, and grammatical structures. Click here to learn more...

Low-Intermediate
This Track is for students with some prior experience with the Japanese language, namely those who can already read and write kana and some kanji. This track builds upon familiar grammatical structures toward more complex expressions. More kanji are introduced. Click here to learn more...

Support Track
This Track is designed for students formally studying Japanese in an academic institution who desire additional practice or support in their studies. This plan is also ideal for students using Rosetta Stone, or preparing to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

Custom Track
This is a custom-designed Track for students with very specific needs, such as an individual or small group planning a short-term trip to Japan who wish to learn “survival Japanese.”
